At age 12, Wilhelmina is a very miserable, sensitive little girl. She doesn’t like the red freckles sprinkled all over her nose or her wiry, straight reddish-blond hair — and when she doesn’t have her way, she sits in front of her huge bay window and cries. The fertile soil outside is watered by her tears – and with some help from Nixxie the Pixie, a TALL Christmas Money Tree grows, right outside that window!

Wilhelmina has immediate dreams of growing up and buying beautiful dresses…hundreds of gowns in every color of the rainbow…  being queen of the Christmas Ball… “with cameos and roses pinned at my throat with silver and gold broaches… wearing tiny silver and gold slippers… and every step I take will leave a swirl of trailing Stardust as I trip along and dance on the beautiful marble dance floors.” However, Wilhelmina also is very selfish, and declares “No one else can share my money – especially that other girl who lives above me!”
